Change of Date – Christmas Market

Due to the heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast for Thursday, we are moving the Christmas Market to Tuesday 18 December. The market will run from 4pm – 7pm.

We understand this may be an inconvenience to some families at this busy stage of the year but have made this change to allow our children to enjoy the market experience.

The Christmas Concert will still take place on Thursday 13 December at 9am in the gym, regardless of the weather.

Notice Home

This afternoon children will be sent home with a notice regarding head lice.

It is really important that we as a community work together to check and treat your child/ren’s hair.

Be mindful that the spread of head lice is through contact which can happen at anytime and not just at school.

Thank you,

Year 4 Team

Weather watch!

Whilst we are looking forward to the Christmas Market, a change of date to Tuesday 18 December MIGHT take place due to the predicted weather for Thursday. We are monitoring the situation closely and will confirm the information as soon as a decision is made. A change of date would allow us to enjoy the festivities without the hassle of umbrellas and gumboots.

The Christmas Concert will still take place on Thursday 13 December at 9am in the gym, regardless of the weather.

Should any change take place we will communicate it here on our website, through the before and after school announcements and on each year level blog.

Money, Money, Money

This week we are focusing on money and purchases.

We encourage all families to discuss purchases and money that they use everyday.

A great example of this would be to discuss how much food items cost and change that would be given if using a particular sum of money.

Example discussions:

How much will it be for us to get the bread at $3.20 and the flour at $2.50?

If you bought a packet of chips for $2.35 with a $5 note how much change would you get?

Museum Excursion

On Friday 12th we will be going to the Melbourne Museum.

We are excited to be going to the museum to further explore ‘how the land changes over time’ which we focused on through inquiry at the end of term 3.

Children will need to bring with them a backpack with;

  • a packed lunch
  • fruit snack
  • water bottle
  • school hat

All children will be required to wear their full school summer uniform including black shoes.

Children will meet at their classrooms at 8:45 on Friday for a 9am departure.

Year 4 return!

The year 4 children are currently in the train on the way home!

WE WILL ARRIVE  JUST BEFORE 3PM AT CRANBOURNE TRAIN STATION! Parents and carers please meet us for pick up!

We have had a lot of fun and are very tired, but such a great experience had by all!
